Tactics from grandmaster games
The smallest set here: positions from games between the strongest players in the world, a few thousand out of six million. These are worth playing through rather than racing, because the position on either side of the tactic is usually more interesting than the tactic itself.
How to spot it
At this level a tactic almost never wins a piece outright. It converts one kind of advantage into another, a better structure into an attack, an attack into an endgame a pawn up. Look for the move that changes what kind of position it is, not the move that wins something.
